As always, Andrea is short, sweet and to the point. Sorry, I’m just not like that. Here’s my story.
Regarding step families, I have been on both sides. I am a mother and a step mother so I definitely have some experience with that. I am in my third (and last) marriage to a wonderful man. He has two boys from a previous marriage; I have two boys from a previous marriage and non-marriage relationship. So we have so many different families involved, it’s crazy. But we’ve found ways to make it work. One thing we did when we first married was decide that when my husband’s boys were with us, they weren’t visiting. This was their home also. They had their own rooms, their own stuff, their own clothes. They knew they could come out any time they wanted. So it wasn’t really that they were visiting their dad for the weekend – they had two homes. We made a lot of mistakes, but we did a lot of things right also.
Business-wise, I am the owner of two businesses, A Balanced Alternative and The VA Blueprint. The first is my virtual assistant business, which I absolutely love. The second is relatively new and is a coaching and mentoring business for new and aspiring VAs, which I also absolutely love. I am living my dream and have been so blessed. That’s one reason I decided to join this cause. I want to give back just a little of what has been given to me.
